The Song that got you Hooked...

This may have been done before, but not since I've been coming here. I am wondering what song got you hooked on DMB.

For me, it was when I was flipping around the T.V. one day, and I accidentally stopped on VH1, and Storytellers was playing. Dave was singing the second chorus of "Crush" (yes, I remember exactly). That didn't get me hooked, but got me very interested.

I pulled out my copy of Crash that I had from an old "12 CD's for 12 cents" deal and took it with me when I went for a walk. As soon as it got to track 9, I was hooked. Thus the signature...

Well, my aunt gave me her dave mix that her son made for her. Second song was Crush. I was hooked.

weird, it was crush for me too. i heard it on the radio, but then i forgot about it for a month or two before my brother came home from college one day and brought back crash with him, the i heard the first 4 tracks of it and was instantly hooked, the rest of the cd blew my mind back then, such a great compilation if you are in a bad mood

well my older siblings had always played dmb around the house; crash into me, ants marching, tripping billies, that kinda thing, but i always just kind've liked it. i was never a big fan. until i stayed with my siblings for a week and they had downloaded grace is gone from lillywhite. i was compelled to stay up through the night and download the whole cd. i've been hooked since.

I was in south africa...my brother had just come back from a holiday in NYC. He walked to the HiFi..put in the Under the table and said..'you gotta hear this..'. As soon as I heard Carter's drum roll into Best of whats around, I was hooked!

I used to hate DMB when i was younger, but then one of my friends lent me Live at luther college. One sweet world probably made the most lasting impression.

Luther College has had such a huge impression on me, it's definitely become my favorite album...#41, Say Goodbye and Seek Up are probably my favorites.

Well, i love all dmb's songs but the one that got me hooked and i have to agree with "johntherevelator" that it was best of whats around. not so much the drum roll, don't get me wrong, it is a nice roll but it was the lyrics for me. bowa came out in 94' so i guess i was about fourteen or fifteen and i've loved them ever since. i'm a guitar player but it was definetely dave's lyrics that got me hooked.

Yeah it was definitely the lyrics for me too, as i mentioned of LIOG. that is what keeps me into him too, with such songs as YNK, Nancies, Billies and 2step

yeah, bowa is really such a sweet song. i instantly get into that song every single time i hear it. also say goodbye holds some good old fashioned bitter/sweet feelings for me that whenever i hear it, i have to stop everything. man that guy is a wizard--LYRICAL wizard that is...
