As for those who don't like DMB

Post by DmbFanJason »

People that don't like DMB are one of two types.

1) People that just don't like that "style" of music, period. (I guess I can respect these).

2) People who really just aren't aware enough to realize what Dave did to create his music. Hence not aware in the area of music.

DMB is something that you really have to be "enlightened" about so to speak. It does take a little while to impinge on people and make their minds go "click, hmmm, well, what is this?".

When I first heard DMB I thought they were OK, and shit I even gave away Red Rocks because I didn't like it. But the more and more you listen to it, you become aware of what the hell Dave is doing with his voice/guitar. I don't know about you guys but watching him play and sing puts me in awe. No other musician does that to me. I literally can't imagine how the hell he came up with that riff/melody/lyrics. I don't even believe Dave knows what he did. Something very special happened w/ Dave and the band.

I think it's funny to see people come in here or other boards and talk Dave down. It's becoming like a trend to think Dave's music is just OK, or nothing special. I've seen it on a lot of the boards. These people that say that can't think for themselves to be frank. At one point I guarantee you they were wax enthusiastic about Dave's music, but after all the crap they've been fed by others or their almighty "music teacher, the conformist!", they end up thinking something totally different, and in the end "being" their music teacher, friend, etc. when they communicate about Dave's music. Does that make sense? Haha, would you guess that I like Dave's music?
