yeah that is another good song. I think that is off one of his earleir solo cds. If you go to his website the guitar chords are there for some of the songs not sure if that song is one of them though.

Are you talking about the "solo" in the song itself or Colin playing it solo like he did on Scrubs last year?

I will tab the Lead....I already did the rest of the song.

I Will do it... You have to give me a little time... But till then ...Here is the correct way to play the acoustic Version. The alignment get out of wack pasting it here but you will still get the idea.

Colin Hay Acoustic version of Overkill
This is an alternate tuning First and Sixth stings tuned to D.
This is a great blues slide tune, so try a slider on it after you
learn the song and have some fun. I don’t know the names of
these cords so I have numbered them. C1 =Cord #1 and so on.

D --0-- --x-- --0-- --0-- --0-- --0-- --0-- --x-- --x--
B --7-- --7-- --7-- --7-- --5-- --5-- --3-- --0-- --0--
G --0-- --7-- --0-- --6-- --0-- --4-- --4-- --7-- --6--
D --7-- --7-- --7-- --7-- --5-- --5-- --4-- --5-- --5--
A --5-- --5-- --5-- --4-- --3-- --2-- --2-- --0-- --0--
D --0-- --5-- --x-- --x-- --x-- --x-- --0-- --7-- --7--

C1 C2 C3 C4 C5 C6 C7 C8 C9

D --x-- --x-- --0-- --0-- --0--
B --0-- --0-- --3-- --3-- --2--
G --3-- --3-- --4-- --2-- --2--
D --4-- --2-- --5-- --2-- --2--
A --4-- --4-- --5-- --0-- --0--
D --x-- --x-- --x-- --x-- --x--

C10 C11 C12 C13 C14

Intro is C1 and C2 cords.
The intro is used as a break during the song also.
C3 C4
I can't get to sleep

C5 C6
I think about the implications

...

C7 C13 C14
Day after day it reappears

C7 C8 C9
Night after night my heartbeat, shows the fear

C10 C11 C12
Ghosts appear and fade away

thanks for the offer but it is unneeded now. My guitar teacher and I are in the process of working this song as well as several other colin hay songs out. Most of the songs off his Going Somewhere cd. I believe the solo is all in the B minor pentatonic (for the most part). Also I don't believe it is in double drop D. At least i think it sounds fine in standard. Thanks again.
