Banjo Tuning

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

Banjo Tuning

Post by czech »

So I restrung my banjo and have never really played it in the 5 years i have owned it. I am wanting to learn, but I can't tune it.
Anyone know of a decent tuner I can buy that can tune my guitar and my banjo?
My shitty silver Korg tuner can't do the banjo :(

I have a 40 dollar tuner with a small mic built in that I use, it's just a plain old meter and some LED's that light up that works fine, I use it for all my acoustic instruments.

what brand? it sounds like my Korg, but you can't even use this korg to tune into drop D with the E string open. I guess the meter just has shit range.
so my banjo is definately a no go, and i want my grandfather to make me a manodlin, so i'll need something for all three.

I have some crappy $15 Fender tuner that my brother's girlfriend gave me. I can tune my violin, mandolin, bass, guitar and banjo with it. Yeah, I was suprised, too.
