there's been a few threads on this before, but I will reiterate my thoughts on the subject. He was talented, but his music was too depressing for me to really enjoy.

his writing was really good...it's a different style, a depressed one, his singing is different, but different is good. he was murdered 1 year ago...two stabs in the heart.

Yeah suicide by stabbing himself in the heart.. I don't get how he was able to stab himself twice in the heart.. You think the first stab would have killed him.

Amazing lyrics, amazing guitar, awesome voice.. His lyrics are depressing, but thats what made his music original, and awesome.. It beats the hell out of all that lovey, sappy, bullshit music that seems to be popular today.

Yea, he stabbed himself in his girlfriends apartment I believe. Some people say that his girlfriend killed him, but he had a history of depression and even a failed suicide attempt I believe.

I think is music is pretty good, but it gets old to me, especially with every sone being so depressing. I only have one of his CDs, XO which isn't a bad CD, but I don't really listen to it that much. It kind of reminds me of a depressing beatles sounding album, there's definatly a strong beatles influence.

He's kinda like Johnny Cash for me. Its songwriting is excellent and soulful, his guitarplaying is decent, but his voice isn't that great.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

Yep, him and Jeff Buckley. (they remind me of each other) Although Jeff's wasn't suicide.

I don't think anyone with Keller Williams in his avatar should be talking about songwriting. :P

Yikes! What makes Cash Cash besides his everyman's songwriting IS HIS VOICE!

About Elliot, he's defin. influenced by the Beatles, especially John and he has quite a few really good songs. The record company really tried to make him a "star" -even releasing one of his songs on the Good Will Hunting soundtrack.

Unfortunately his battles with the China and his depression ended his life prematurely.
