is there anything specific i need to be able to plug my guitar into my computer?

depending on your soundcard, all you'd probably need is a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter to plug it in. like 3 bucks at a radioshack:

if its xlr, you need an impedence converter, or a preamp

your mic input on your sound card

...or if its intergrated into your motherboard its the "red" looking hole

yes, make sure your adapter is stereo. Input into your mic input, dont do line in, mic works better. makes sure your mic boost is off.

doesn't that look a little big to fit into the mic hole?

thats the backwards adapter, you want big to small.

actually, i bleive that the aux in would work better because the volume level is different
