How far up to I bend a half and a whole bend?

It's hard to say at first. To bend a half step means when you play the 7th fret, bend it enough that it sounds like you are playing the 8th fret without a bend. If it were a whole step, bend it enough to sound like the 9th fret without a bend...Sorry if that doesn't make sense.

Pitch of 7th with half a bend = normal pitch of 8th fret

Pitch of 7th with full bend = normal pitch of 9th fret
