hexatonic scales

can anyone tell me where to get the patterns for these up and down the fretboard?

You mean the blues scale? Or do you mean it literally, as in '6 roots'? In that case it would be the whole tone scale. *shrug*

blues scales are pentatonic scales with a note added here and there.

I quite honestly have not heard of a hexatonic scale before.

Doesnt mean it doesnt exist but its just foreign to me.

Scales which use only six of the seven notes are called hexatonic;
those which use only five are called pentatonic. There are many
different examples of both hexatonic and pentatonic scales
try google :D

Ive been playing for a long time, and dont know a single scale. does anyone know of a site that has alot of good scales, and a way to learn them?

Theres a good book called Guitar Scales by Peter Pascow I think his name is. Its really good.
