European Community - proudestmonkeys

Post by bobd »

Hello everybody

The situation between DMB and Europe's not been so cool in the last years, as you all know, and we, as European fans, started more and more feeling slightly ignored - as not everyone has the money to go and fly over to the US and attend a couple of shows there. That's why we have decided to build a pan-European DMB-Community. The project is pretty fresh, it's online since yesterday... the adress is http://www.proudestmonkeys.org

We truly hope we'll be a community constantly growing, making more and more obvious DMB ARE known and loved by lots of people in Europe - it would be great if you'd visit us (of course non-European visitors are highly welcome too).

This page is NOT meant to get in competition with other pages or something like that, the intention is to create a place for European DMB-fans to assemble, hang out and discuss...

Thanks for listening, hope you'll visit us

That's really cool man. Oh, and Dave isn't ignoring you guys, Europe has always ignored him. Look at album sales, europe really doesn't like him that much, but it's great what you're doing...

well actually, the one thing depends on the other one...

Why should anybody know an artist that isn't there? There's no DMB in Europe's radios and festivals... who should know them?
That's a reason why we try to build a European community which can try to spread the music at our territories.

It's just a try and many people apreciate it :)

theyre were dates planned in 2001, but 9/11 screwed that up, and likc checkii said, record sales arent great there, and when DMB has played theyre its not like arenas, its like bars and the ocational auditorium... its not dave, but to daves record people and all, theres no money in europe as far as it seems. he'll go back, he wants too, but he doesnt have time.

I saw that some chick he signed to ATO records is from england and is trying to get the word out on DMB throughout england.

and just cause a band doesn't tour or isn't on the radio doesn't mean that you shouldn'tor can't listen to them.

Just to point out - monkey ends in -ey, and cookie ends in -ie. Both simply add an 's' to make it plural. Seems pretty unexceptional to me :P

Well... the rule is that if it ends in a <vowel>y, then you may simply add an s, but if it ends in <consonant>y, then you must change the y to -ies. The rules do change, but once you know them, there aren't *too* many exceptions to the rules.

Well, I was just addressing the words ending with y, but I think we've hijacked this thread enough.
