why gig bags suck

People always seem to be dropping their guitars when they are putting their guitar in a gigbag, or pulling them out. Today some guy was jamming with me and another guy, and while he was putting his guitar away it fell....right onto my guitar.

It dented my guitar up pretty bad(a mark for each fret), and large dent near the bottom. At least the guitar is structurally fine. Heres a picture:

I don't like gig bags either, but if i had more guitars and couldn't afford hard cases its better than nothing.
