OK i start to get a little worried when i see people talking about how long the DMB have left!
Anyone got any ideas how long they will keep on going for? Are there any signals that this legacy is coming to an end? ( Please say no)

they will probably play for a bunch more years...they gotta make some money to pay for the multi-million dollar lawsuit that they'll probably face in chicago

Well whats kinda funny is that when I bought the Gorge DVD/CD they had an insert in it that listed Comming Soon stuff. One of the things listed was DMB Vol 1. That is kinda odd? I guess they are going to start the Greatest Hits run...which sucks because we have all the songs already.
I give them 5 years of touring and maybe two or three new studio albums and 1,000 live cds and 5 Greatest Hits.......I dont know?!?!?
Whooo, thats great news. You all feeling pretty optimistic that they are going to be around for quite a while. But im concered that you say a greatest hits is on its way. (over here in England) when someone bringsa greatest hits out thats normally the end of them. Is that different in the US?

That DMB Vol 1 you speak of is not a greatest hits album. In fact, its a live show from December of 1998. Im not saying how long it will be before they break up, but it seems like a Vol 1 would be followed by a Vol 2, and so on, so I think we have quite some time to go.

What does releasing OLD concert material prove in the ways of them not breaking up?
To be in a band is like being married. Nobody knows when it is gonna be over, don't even the members. Let's hope this marriage last for a long time, even better, let's hope that meanwhile they are together they keep on making great music.
Another thing. Believe or not there are many people who don't know the DMB. If they were to do a Hits CD it is always a great way to capture new fans, not that DMB needs them

it was bonneroo that they released..that's what volume one was
Shows Been to: 7-17-02, 12-15-03, 7-20-04, 7-5/6-05
i could see them sputtering out after their new album tour is over, but like coldchillin' said i believe they are going to start releasing old shows as albums. you can't believe they are going to stick around for five more years.
but i hate this topic so i'm outta here
