Good beginner Acoustic?

Post by naa3e5 »

I am looking to learn how to play... few questions..

Whats is a good beginner acoustic...

Better to take lessons early on?

Or try to learn a little then take lessons...

Any good books?

I would be starting from ground zero of musical knowledge... just a desire to learn!

Thanks for any help!

As far as a beginner guitar goes, there are a lot of possibilities. It pretty much depends on your budget and what feels good to you. Some good lower priced brands are Washburns, Takamines, Seagulls and Alvarez. My suggestion would be to go to a few music stores and play around with several until one stands out.

Lessons are good, but it's tough to find a teacher that keeps your interest.
Shop around. I took lessons from a jazz guitarist for about 6 months. He helped greatly with music theory but little else.

Check out this site: http://www.guitarnoise.com. Check out the songs for beginners. The guy does a great job of explaining things.

Washburn D10.
There is no greater beginners guitar, I know because I owned once a long time ago.

Those are nice guitars but in my opinion a bit exspensive for someone thats never played, ur best off jus using one u might find in the attic or a garage sale for a while until your positive that u wanna stick wit it and put some money into it.
http://www.musiclandcentral.com has some great beginner guitars. I would start taking the lessons when u decide to upgrade guitars.
Im a pretty decent player and none of my guitars are as nice as a seagull or a tak and I've never taken lessons
