what exactly does a phaser do?

kind of like a wah and volume pedal combined..gives a spacey type sound to it

Hmm..basicly, yeah. I believe a flanger is more used to get a squeel out of a guitar, but yeah..

ever listen to that song "lightening crashes" by Live. the intro riff has a flange effect. here's a link that you can compare the sounds.

MXR Phase 90 is the best.

MXR Phase 100 was the best...good luck finding one in good shape for a reasonable price.

no need for the Phase 100... theres like... 4 people who use it. the 90 is fine.
