You Never Know
Hey guys... does any one have an alternate tab for YNK. The one Kanter has is good, but in some areas it sounds way off (chorus - capo version). Just wondering.

I know it's the same, which is why it's in parentheses...Beauford33 wrote:the capo at 7 would be the same as the Raised B tab. However, its all relative to the Capo so its not worth unless you have a cutaway. The Capo at 2 is alternate tunning.

There is something I have been wanting to ask about this song for awhile. Has anyone seen the tab in the cherry lane book? It says he tunes the bottom five strings up a fifth and tunes the top string down a fourth. It says he puts a heavier gauge string on the 1st to do this. Does anyone know if he really does this? When it comes to the Luther College books, cherry lane did a great job I felt. But on this song, I think they are probably wrong and is just a raised B tuning.

Low E up to B
A up to E
D up to A
G up to D
B up to F#
High E DOWN to B
The 1st string actually winds up being lower than the 2nd. That's how Dave does it. You should use a slightly heavier gauge, such as a .016 for the 1st string in raised B.
It should be noted too that if you're doing raised B you should by a set of extra light gauge strings, don't use the low E, string the guitar starting with the A string in the Low E position, D string in the A position and go from there. You'll need to buy an additional .016 string, to go on the empty 1st string position.

Many people have mentioned that the tab is off at some parts.. i have no idea what to do about it, howeverdmb_tatertot wrote:lol going back to the original question. I should have mentioned that i know its an alternate tuning, but the chorus still sounds way off. Some of the chords in it just dont work even by themselves in my opinion. Any insight or am i just overly paranoid?
