alright....the subject maybe a little unlcear. This is what i mean.
Your average acoustic guitar comes with just one of those knob things to hold the strap and and you need to get one of those ties to put around the very top of the neck to keep the other side one. Well when i stand up with the strap tied aroudn the the neck it clips of my shoulder alot. I see Dave...and many other people.....have TWO of those knobs for the strap (jsut liek an electric)
I was jsut wondering if you could jsut buy one and drill it in (well not me personally but give it to a one of those repair/tech dudes)
On a side note, try to find a guitar store/instrument repair place that isn't a chain in your area (not Guitar center, etc.) I find that the independent ones are a lot nicer and do much more quality work.

It's not like it's rocket science though. I did it myself, not suggesting it but it really isn't difficult. Although I would agree with you on more serious repairs.
Don't be a wuss, do it yourself. If you can operate a screw driver you can do it yourself. I've done it to two of my guitars, took me less that 5 minutes a piece and that was 3 years ago and I haven't had a problem. Just use common sense when doing it and you should be fine.

Many guitar makers have templates so you know where to drill, of course if you go into any guitar stor they are all in the same place.
also, when you bring a guitar to a place like GC, many times they send it off to a small repair shop. I haven't had a single GC that did their own repairs. I'd ask where they send themn to and skip the GC mark up.
