thumb strum

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

When I play it, I use a capo, and I find that it is hard to get a clear sound. But I've come to find out that the lighter I strum the clearer the sound I get from it. So maybe you're strumming a tad to hard, just let your thumb brush down the strings and not try to make the sound come from playing it harder than you should. That's the only thing that I can think of, hpoe it helps :-)

well of course the best thing would be to get a raised b guitar :D

but whenever i play "oh" i fingerpick the verses and use a pick on the chorus.

i think it sounds quite nice that way
