Two Step lyrics

Post by F_In_A_Minor »

Can anyone tell me what Dave is singing in the beggining of the Listener Supported version of Two Step, before the whole band comes in, that little thing that seems ad-libbed...

I got the end of it, something about a sinking ship...other than that, ditto. It sounds beautiful, though. But I can't make it out at all...

I thoroughly enjoy Dave and all things...............Dave, but there are times when I absolutely have no clue as to what he is saying. This is really one that's a little aggravating.

Anyone???

that I wonder
to tell you
by yelling
is less than
poetic my dear

Does he really make them up on the spot?
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

Still I need my heart. All friends of mine, brothers and sisters, Hoping that, in times of trouble I might, lean on them more. But lately I swear, nightmare dreams are welling in me, This ship is troubled only cause', this ship we're on is sinking

Thats what he says

God bless listener supported. That show remains my favorite live show. Although the versions of songs like DDTW and R&R are kinda weak, what they lack in power they make up in laidbackness. Thats what I love about that show so much is that it is so laid back, especially the heartbeat intro, jimi, and long black veil. Its the best concert to chill out to. It also has the best live version of 41 ever, with solos on violin, flute and sax. Its certainly as good as 41s come without the flecktones. Dave plays that cool solo at the end of jimi. Great tasteful use of the lovely ladies, unlike the butchering done by them to the songs on folsom.

I rented it yesterday for the first time in about a year and jammed through the whole concert, start to finish, dreaming of the day when butch and timmy both play on one stage with DMB. All I can say is....damn.

Of course, the chicago version is pretty charged too, especially with timmy doing all those cool effects.
