Help me play this song

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

if you go to vh1.com and search for dave matthews, it will give you some bio stuff and a list of videos, there is a video of dave playing oh solo and that should help you out a ton

edit: here you go http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/matthews_ ... tist.jhtml

its under the video section

But don't forget that Dave play's it on a Raised B Tuned guitar, so if you are playing it on a standard tuned guitar don't take his hand positions for reference. But either way it will help you out on what he plays

I think there was a thread with the correct verse, a search should get it for you.

I'm assuming that you're talking about the last note? And if you are, then the point of leaving the High E open is because that is how Dave plays it. If you make this D chrod xx0232 it doesn't quite sound right. But that's what I'm getting from what you're question. Hope that answered your question :-)

Post by erech »

Here's a dummy's version of the song. Standard Tunning. No capo. I used it on an open mic night, sounded pretty good.

Intro

e|--0--0--2--------------|
b|--0--2--3--3h5p3-0-----|
g|--1--2--2-----------2--|
d|--2--2--0--------------|
a|--2--0-----------------|
E|--0--------------------|

Verse :

e|--0-----0--0--|
b|--2-----2--0--|
g|--2--2--2--1--|
d|--2--4--2--2--|
a|--0--4--0--2--|
E|-----2-----0--|

Chorus:

e|--2-----|
b|--3--3--|
g|--2--4--|
d|--0--4--|
a|-----2--|
E|--------|

Then i just use the same outro as on the site. Hope this helps.
