Electric guitar strings...

Post by mlee »

Hey all, I'm just curious about a good set of electric guitar strings. This will be the first time I put new strings on my LP and I'm not sure what to buy. What do y'all use on your electrics?? Also any links or tips on changing the strings would be appreciated.

Thanks
- Matt

i'm topping this cause it didn't get many responses and now i'm curious. i don't much care for elixirs on my acoustic. i use d'addario's on my acoustic. i have a semi-hollowbody and i need something that will sound good but aren't as slippery as elixirs.

why cant i be serious? you still get the same sound but with more tone. tone is good. if you dont like tone you're weird.

string tensions are different...

i've used ernie balls, go heavy, its good. electric strings arent as important, cuz its amplification thats important. as long as they're easy to play and youre good.

of course the string tensions are different. electric strings are supre thin and thus have no tone imo. i have dadarrio lights on my chet and the same on my lp
