Raised B tuning

How do you tune your guitar to raised B?
eg: for drop d you would tune your low E one full step down and leave the rest untouched.
imo there should be an explanation of tuning on guitar sites - this one too - where it says how to actually tune your guitar to a particular style, instead of just saying 'tune to raised B'. no offence guys

I found this on another site: Hope it helps.

All u have to do is tune the strings to those notes. Like tune the e string to you b string, tune the A string to your high E string, tune your d string to the 3rd string 2nd fret then tune your g string to the 3 fret second string, then tune your b string to 2nd fret 1st string, then finally tune the bottom string to your top string which is already tuned to B.

Also try a capo on the 7th fret

Actually, you have to do quite a bit more than just retune. It's kind of takes some time to get your guitar into raised b and you have to completely restring your guitar. Follow this link:

IM not being a dick but do ya'll really want to go through the trouble of doing the Raised B setup for 2 or 3 songs?

Use a capo..sounds good enough

My brother is headed out for the summer so I'm taking care of his guitar for him. Well, since he left I raised b-ed his guitar and it's pretty cool. Not all too differnt from using a capo on 7, but some of the chords I couldn't do before are do-able and sound cool. If nothing else, it's fun to play along with the 3 songs I can think of (SOL, Oh, YNK) and it's fun to fool around with. Making up new chords and shit is kinda fun. But I sure wouldn't have done this if I hadn't had the spare guitar. Point being, if you don't have a spare guitar, don't bother becaues it isn't ALL THAT cool.
