I still believe the album is done or close to done though, which sucks because I want the GD Intro on there somewhere. Even as a small bonus track.

don't count anything out.
On a side note, I love that GD intro!

Oh man....I can't wait to see what is going to be on this new album! I was not a big fan of "Stand Up" when it came out but I have a good feeling about this one coming out this summer. Rashawn Ross and Dave are great together.Nitro1515 wrote:Once again from Ants so take it for what its worth, but this seems pretty consistent with what everyone has been assuming for awhile

So my best friend and DMB touring buddy is in Europe right now. He is heading down to "tonights" show in a little while and I just spoke to him for the first time since he has been out there. Anyway, he met Dave on the streets of Berlin before the show..not sure what day Berlin was and asked him how the new album was coming and about the touring to be done behind it. Dave said the album is 100% done and will be released sometime "mid-summer". He said the band will be touring the US this summer once the album comes out but that the tour will be noticeably shorter than years past. He said the band made the decision to cut the summer tour in half compared to past years and tour only in July and some of August and said the band will make up for the lost time in the fall, which he also said was something they've neglected to do over the past few years. He confirmed that his wife is having another baby in June and that Rashawn Ross is going to be on the road with them this summer. When my friend asked about the opening bands, Dave said he usually doesn't even know who is opening until he gets to the show that day and doesn't pay much attention to that stuff.
oohhh i totally agree about the GD intro. I flew over to oxford at the start of the month to see Dave and Tim there and it felt like it was refreshing. I know this thread is supposed to be for the new album, but I would LOVE to hear even a live release with Dave and Tim again, its been too long since Luther and I believe the two together have gotten exponentially better.
Not to mention the improvements in Dave's voice.... lovin it.
As for the new album, there many be too many skeptics. That blog from Fonzie's myspace was like a light at the end of a tunnel. I'll keep my hopes up and my fingers crossed.

Due before the end of the year.Nitro1515 wrote:http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/art ... 1003565447
I would think they'd release it mid-july, a couple weeks before the start of the tour. That random show in july could be a release-party type show.
Will no longer being with RCA potentially mean anything for the quality of future albums?

thats weird cause i thought the whole point of the Best Of cd was to fulfill their contract with RCA and then bounce out of thereNitro1515 wrote:no, this is most likely going to be the last one for thembtbesong wrote:i thought they were done with rca?The group has also been hard at work on a new studio album, due before the end of the year via RCA.
