I agree, you really can't touch BTCS, but that album would have been incredible if it got the full Lillywhite treatment. Plus it would have been really different because it would have been the first album to not have any guests on it, just the 5 of them.
I think the LWS would have been better than BTCS as a finished product. I think the songs are stronger lyrically and musically, as well as darker. Aside from obviously not being finished, I think LWS biggest flaw was coming after BTCS. If it had come out before BTCS I think it would considered their masterpiece. It's all speculative, of course.

I agree. I know it sounds like heresy but I honestly believe that had it been mastered/finished it would have definitely rivaled BTCS if it wasn't better.

i dont know if id agree that LWS is darker than BTCS. interesting theory about the LWS being their masterpiece if it was finsihed and released before BTCS.
In my mind, if LWS were finished and released as the follow-up album to crash (lets say in 1998), it would be considered (at the time of its release) their best album yet and impossible to top. But then if the band released BTCS a couple years later as a follow-up to LWS, it would do the impossible and top the LWS and be considered the bands masterpiece and greatest album
