Audio DL: Ben Pezzner cover of #34

Post by dmfollower »

So my great uncle past away this morning(01/16/07).
He was an amazing guy, one of those last "real" men from back in the day. He fought on the beaches of normandy in wwII and was the type of man who stayed active and still insisted on living to the fullest even at the old age of 88. I've been through quite alot in the past year losing 4 very close friends and now my great uncle, who i admired very much. So anyway, i had recently dl'd most of the covers that ben did and i was listening to his cover of #34 and it made me completely break down and i would like to dedicate this version of the song to my late great uncle, his name was Vern.
I hate to throw this emotional stuff on you guys but it really makes a difference to me just giving some sort of rememberance back to him. Thanks.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I recently heard this version of #34 and it is such a great version of the song, you can really hear that emotion.

Wow, firstly let me say I'm sorry for your loss. Your uncle sounds like he was a great guy and I'm guessing there will be a lot of people mourning his passing. Secondly, I wanted to say I feel honored that one of my recordings was able to invoke so much emotion. Thanks for the comment and I hope you feel better.

Ben

I'm sorry for your loss. I think everyone knows how it is to lose someone so close, but no one can ever really understand the pain of another when something terrible like this happens. Your great uncle sounds like the kind of guy I could have grown up admiring and respecting, as I'm sure you did. Anyone who fights for ones country, and can still live life fully and happily for so long, is indeed a great man.

I hear what you mean about this, by the way. I'll be honest in saying that with your reasoning behind sharing this in mind, this is pulling at me a bit.
