Why dont you just tune down to drop d real quick, its easy as hell, it takes like 2 seconds and makes the song a lot easier to play. If you dont know how to just ask.

1: pluck your low E and D strings together
2: flatten (make lower) your E until its the same pitch as the D
3: play songs in drop D

to reverse, tune it to your high e

Easier way, when you press down the low e on the fifth fret it sounds just like the open a string, now go down to the 7th fret and keep tuning your low e down until it sounds just like the a open. Or if you have a tuner try that, or dl this tuner: http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/AP_Guitar_Tuner/

when i am being lazy i just play wonderland in open like this :
(copy to notepad)
|-------------------------------------------|
|-------------------------------------------|
|---10--10----10--10-----10--10----10--10---|
|---10--10----10--10-----10--10----10--10---|
|-8-----8-----------------------------------|
|-----------8-----8----6-----6---8-----8----|
Not too easy to do, but fret the D and G string
with your pinky and use your middle finger for
the the A string and the fret 8 on low E string.
Use your pointer finger for the 6 on E string.
Takes a bit of practice to be able to hit both
notes with just your pinky.
If you have trouble still after a while, try
fretting the 8 on your E string with your thumb.

I had to play this song once and I just capoed the 3rd fret and played it like this:

Code: Select all

G |-------------------------|
D |---3-3---3-3---3-3---3-3-|
Bb|---2-2---2-2---2-2---2-2-|
F |-0-----------------------|
C |-------0-----------0-----|
G |-------------3-----------|
that opens up a lot for open chords as well.

"If you want love...)

b---3-x-3---3---|---3-x-3---3---|
g---0-x-0---0---|---0-x-0---0---|

For the bridge I just messed around with this chord (keep in mind another guitar was playing as well, so it wasn't too boring sounding)

e-2--
b-3--
g-2--
d-4--
a-2--
e----
