Falsetto Advice

try to sing and play the second verse of #41 over and over. At the end of it there are some tough falsettos. I learned to do it by playing this song like nuts.

Falsetto is your "head" voice. When you go from your normal range or "chest" voice to your head voice it's quite difficult. A lot of a vocalist's time is spent smoothing out the transition between these two voices. I don't know if anyone remembers The Fifth Element there's a scene with the opera singer-alien thing (an extremely well respected singer in real life). She's go's from the depths of her range all the way to the top and you can't hear the slightest crack. Anyway that was kinda random. Basically you have to train properly and with patience just like anything worth doing.

with respect, technically, only men have falsetto, so it is not really considered head voice. also, there is a middle voice, not just chest and head. if anyone is interested, there is a distinction because you feel the vibrations in different areas. when in your head voice you should feel vibrations in the crown of your skull down to the nasal area. in middle voice you feel vibrations in your throat and mouth area and you can guess where the vibrations occurr for chest voice.

also don't worry about the bumps and wiggles in your voice as you approach falsetto, it happens. with practice you get better and it smooths out.

Technically, but woman perform the same mechanics to get into their upper register. Right?

I don't know anything about singing. I just try for the best. I can usually sing A LOT better with the recording on rather than alone. It helps me match the pitch...

Says who ? Not to mention if you look at an artist doing falcettos they usually have this smirk on if not a full smile

Besides, look at dave when he does that falsetto verse in Jimi thing or in 41. He looks like a kid on christmas morning.

Exactly , take any artist and look at them doing high pitched voices , they get that little smiley face and then the tones come out , smiling has alot to say when singing high pitches
