We just went to two different guitar stores...

We both really liked the Larrivee D03s and L03s... they only had one OM and it was all mahogany, so we couldn't really compare it to the sounds of the others (which were mahogany back and sides with spruce tops). Definitely could tell a difference in sound between the cutaways and non cutaways... IMO non cutaways sounded much better. Both the L03 and D03 are $899.

The other store we went to had no Larrivees... but it had a used Taylor 310 that I really liked... and the price is better at only $729. They also had a used Martin 000-16 that was $895 that was nice as well, but I really think I liked the taylor better... didn't have much time at this store because it was closing time. The used Taylor and Martin both looked brand new. I'm not sure if these prices are good or not though, because I haven't looked much at the price of Taylors and Martins.

Neither of the stores had any decent Taks... all really low end ones... We're going to 2 or 3 other guitar stores in the next few days and hopefully one of them will have a nice Tak selection.

I really can't decide which guitars I like better between Taylor and Martin, but if I saw a 310 being sold for $729 that was in good condition, I would jump all over it!

yeah, I'm leaning towards that... I think I liked the Larrivee's more, but the Taylor 310 was really nice and much cheaper. I was surprised that I liked the Taylor more than the Martin, because from what I've read on the internet most people like Martin's more.

The Taylor is definitely in great condition. If you put it up to a new one you couldn't tell a difference... there were minor scratches on the pick guard, but they said they would put a new pick guard on if I wanted.

Speaking of pick guards, I love the clear ones on the Larrivees...

yeah, the taylor is tempting because it did sounds good.. and played well.. and it's much cheaper. plus they said i could probably trade in my epiphone les paul (that i don't ever play) for a good bit if they knew I was buying too.

I think I liked how the Larrivee's sounded better.. but they were in two different stores, so it was hard for me to compare the sounds.

And like my brother said, I'd really like to play a OM that's not all mahogany, but that's all they had (selection wasn't near as good as I was hoping)

found a used D-03 that's in mint condition for $625 shipped..
