I think it has more to do with amount of songs played, meaning more variety, than venue. there "big show" of the year, (ex: golden gate, red rocks, central park, fenway etc.) are either longer sets or multiple days. 3,4,5 cd's seems more exciting than 2. not saying quanity is better than quanity, but i think it plays into it. i think they could release the 3 days they play at the Gorge every year and it would be a great buy every time.
plus dont forget Boyd could smear his own poop on a double live album and it would go triple platinum in 4 hours
