Simple little poll. I would say my style is a mix between flat-picking, fingerstyle since I never use a pick, and percussive rhythm. I can hold my own on lead, but tend to stick fairly true to flat-pickers a la Tony Rice (although Im not nearly as good). I definatley think Im a Folk/Bluegrass player. What are you? Apologies for leaving anything off.
Definitely a rhythm player. I do a lot of strumming, muting, etc. I can do leads too, but usually just stick to rhythm.
My guitars:
Taylor 714
Taylor 614ce
Martin Sigma DR-41
Epiphone Chet Atkins SST (Ebony)
Danelectro 56-U2 reissue
Fender American Deluxe Strat
Fender Aerodyne Telecaster
BC Rich Eagle Custom
I suppose rhythm fits me best, but I really combine most of those, with the exception of that whack tuning shit slide. I own a slide, but I never use it. My lead skills are ok, but I'd rather not do it.
I do a bit of everything, lead, rhythm, a lot of fingerpicking lately (Leo Kottke stuff ), and have been doing some jazz stuff lately. But no slide, for I suck royally at slide.
straight up rhythm. I like slappin' the strings and the face of the guitar too to add some spice to real upbeat, quick songs. If I wasn't playing guitar i'd probably be playing drums.
