Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
I was slightly disappointed with the Lillywhite version myself. I didn't like the lyric change when he says "But all the colors mix together, to grey. And it breaks her heart." Before when he played it was "But all the colors mix together, to grey. On grey street". It just suprised me that they would change the main line in the chorus of the song, especially when that's the title.

No, seriously though...why shorten a great song??? Doesn't make a lot of sense. Who cuts an entire verse out of a song...after it's been played live for three years? Why take a way from it? Because they're bored of it? Why play it at all then???

there is no point in questioning what they do to their own songs. the song isn't your's, its the band's. they can do whatever the hell they want to with it
Fatjack, I understand this isn't my song, but it's a great song. A song I've been listening to for a few years now...now it's different, and a verse is missing...this is why the post was started.
They can do what they want with their songs, but why change this one?
i agree. why mess w/ a good thing. it isn't like they added an awesome jam or anything, they cut cool stuff out. makes no sense. just because it isn't my song, doesn't mean i can't question the band's intentions or reasonings. they aren't God
Grey Street must be kinda like Crash for them. Because there is little in terms of jamming you can do with it, it must get a tad boring to play.

true, but i think the third verse kinda gave the point of the song. to me it said that sometimes God sends help but you don't recognize it. the shortened version just says God doesn't help
