Breathing by Lifehouse, Waiting on an Angel, and IBYU are all the bomb. (this has been confirmed ). But my favorite song to play for a girl (girlfriend or potential) is Walk With You by Dispatch. listen to it if you havent already, it's fairly easy chordwise, and fun to play.
America by Simon and Garfunkel is one the babes I hang out with always dig.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
If there wasnt as much about being drunk and sad, or if you just had the chorus, You're So Great by Blur might be good... not the best though, I suppose...
yeah BOWA is a good one for sure. and it looks impressive too if you play it like Dave. When I first learned it I just played standard chords. IBYU is nice but also hard to sing. I don't do well vocally in A major. But I think it'd be cool to write your own song for her. I have one going pretty good right now but when I started to write the lyrics to it, I got stuck after the first line lyrics are a struggle for me.
Yeah, women dig songwriters. I wrote a song for a physics lab we were presenting and had my really hot lab partiner holding the song sheet as I sang it. I was a tad nervous and my voice cracked a few times, but it was still perfect.

Give me a break. I write songs for projects every chance I get. Its easy, teachers are impressed with it, girls love it, and gives you an excuse to play guitar during homework time.

reminds me...i might be roped into singing Cortez the Killer in my spanish class. we are reading a book - Viajes Fantasticos - and making a project about it. my group was like "bring your guitar!"
"Forget about what you are escaping from," he said, quoting an old maxim of Kornblum's. "Reserve your anxiety for what you are escaping to."

that was moi, and i thought tears in heaven would be a good one, kinda high for me though.
I can't believe that we would lie in our graves,
dreaming of things we might have been.
Since were on Clapton, Change the World kicks ass.
