scratchy sounds

Post by mabufo »

When I plug in my electric acoustic, I notice some scratchy kind of sounds when I slide my hand on the string say, from a D chord, to a G chord. I understand sometimes making noises is unavoidable... but when this sort of thing happens to me it is loud, and bloody awful. I am wondering if this phenomonon is caused by me being a dolt, my strings, or possibly from my poorly set amplifier! Let me know what you think about it!

can you be more specific? is it just the sound of your fingers across the strings amplified or is it something that is only comming through when you plug in?

the sound of my fingers amplified... how can I stop it, or make it less noticable? Is there some bit of technique I'm missing?

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?
