I like reading islamic scripture jut for the fun of it. Its fun to do impressons of those prayer callers. Not that I am making a mockery or anything.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

Usually when Dave references The Bible, I recall a passage quickly, but I'm not coming up with anything on this one.

I ran a search on crosswalk.com for mirror, I got four verses. Job 37:18, 1 Corinthians 13:12, 2 Cor. 3:18, James 1:23. The verse from James seems to most closely fit the Cry Freedom verse, but it seems a bit of a stretch. It reads: "For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror"

My only deal is that Dave usually goes for the more "surface" scripture like Jesus and Judas, Noah, etc. Not to say this is out of the realm, just wondering.

dave has obviously read the bible, or parts of it. "eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die" is straight from it, among other things.
"Forget about what you are escaping from," he said, quoting an old maxim of Kornblum's. "Reserve your anxiety for what you are escaping to."

What about.."I am who I am"...In Exodus 4, when God presents Himself to Moses as a burning bush, and Moses asks God what he should he tell the Israelites what God's name is if they ask...and God says to Moses "I am who I am"

.....and thousands of years later it ends up in Dancing Nancies :D

Eccleseastes has to be the most underated book in the bible. There's some wise shit in there. "Rejoice oh young men in the days of thy youth...."
