avatar question

why am i only allowed to have an avatar that is only 80x80 pixels, but some people here, even newbies, have ones that are clearly larger?

did i do somethign wrong?

they're not uploading it, they're using it from somewhere else. phpbb2.2 adds the ability for phpbb to check if a remote avatar is too big.
