i dont know about the chords being stolen. but im pretty sure that the lyrics are about dave's feud with an old friend who was sueing him for profits or something. i mentioned it in another thread a while back.. and im pretty sure gianni can enlighten you better than myself.

yah i think i heard the same ting somewhere...about stolen chords and the song being about the lawsuit. I don;t believe it because there is no way a song that beautiful is from a fight.
I think the song is about a lawsuit between dave and long time friend Ross Hoffman. I believe it had to do with something with Ross wanting the share of the profits from Dave's music because he helped him form ideas. I think the song is about the bitterness between Dave and Ross I think Ross was basically like a teacher kinda guy to Dave. I could be completely wrong though
