09/28/2006

Farm Aid is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the Tweeter Center at the Waterfront in Camden, NJ and will feature performances by Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews. Farm Aid will also feature performances by Jerry Lee Lewis with Roy Head, Los Lonely Boys, Arlo Guthrie, Gov't Mule, Steve Earle, Shelby Lynne, Steel Pulse, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and many other artists. The event to raise money to promote family farm foods will be broadcast as a live streaming webcast at http://www.farmaid.org in Windows Media Player 9. Farm Aid will also be broadcast on XM Satellite Radio, X Country, Channel 12.

The entire concert press event will be available on-demand beginning at 2:00 p.m. EDT and live music will begin at 3:30 p.m. EDT. The webcast will capture the complete Farm Aid experience in real time, making viewers at home a part of the important benefit concert. Viewers may log into the webcast at http://www.farmaid.org for free, unlimited access to the show and exclusive backstage footage and interviews. Farm Aid is asking for a suggested donation of $10 or more from webcast viewers.

Farm Aid promotes food from family farms and sustainable agriculture, fights factory farms, advocates for fair farm prices and provides disaster assistance and credit counseling to farm families.

Sounds like it will be good; like every previous year. Does anyone think that it will be taped like the Palm Beach webcast?

Sounds cool. And what a great list of performers, too. I hope somebody tapes it.

last year dave was the first of the 4 headliners to go on. it goes dave, john mellencamp, neil, then willie. with a shorter list of performers, i'll say dave goes on around 7ish.
