That first IOY is definitely the best, the song sounded so much more alive. And at the 1:20 mark of the 6.10 Shotgun when Leroi and Rashawn come in is still my favorite moment of the tour, its chilling.
I really hope IoY and Shotgun both make the album... for me, it'd be worth buying just for those too. I hope the versions that make it are comparable to these live cuts. And I really hope Shotgun doesn't get chopped. They weren't afraid to have 7 or 8 minute songs on their previous albums, and Shotgun needs to have the intro and outro on it.
I'm real worried that Shotgun is gonna go the way of the '04 songs and get trashed since it is very different. I hope I'm wrong but you can't tell anymore with this band after what happened in 2000 and 2004.

What's the third line of the chorus? "Gonna stay, but I....."
Its "Gonna stay, but I think god gave me a night here."

God damn it that would disappoint me.

Idea of You
Shotgun
Break Free
Kill the King

= an album worth buying, to me.
Kill The King is a decent song. I'm not a big fan of Dave on the electric, but its a nice shot in the arm at a live show and I would liked to have seen it stick around this tour and replace Hunger on a two night stand so they would stop repeating it.

I know, that would seriously suck. Who knows whats going to happen when they get back in the studio with Batson. Its entirely possible that they will decide to scrap everything this tour and start writing a bunch of stuff and create Stand Up Part 2. They had no problem doing that to the '04 songs and they were even stronger than these new songs so it could easily happen.

let's all post this on Fonzie's MySpace:

Dear Stefan,

Please tell the band that Idea of You, Shotgun, Break Free and Kill the King should be on the new album.

Also, please tell Dave that 6.2.06 is the best version of Idea of You, vocally/lyrically.

Also, 6.10.06 is the best vocal performance of Shotgun, but we love the "What has become of us...?" intro and the long outro. It would be really amazing if they were on the studio cut...

Finally, we want you to know that the summer of '04 songs compliment the summer of '06 songs really well.

Love,

We could start a movement.

if you want them to take note, be a tad less like your in control, reword it to sound less like an order and it would be a very good idea
Gervais on Rosa Parks "she was arrested but then that law was changed- but she didnt stop there, she started sitting in the seats saved for disabled people. unbelavable, she talked to the driver when the bus was in motion- did she have the correct change ready? - did she bollox!"
