Best Summer Tour in Recent Memory?

Unread post by Mikey » Mon Sep 25, 2006 10:53 am

now that the 06 tour is done, do you think its better than the past couple tours, or does one of the past summer tours in recent memory trump it?

I remember being there for opening night in 2003 for their first two shows when they debuted all those Lillywhite songs, that alone (and the fact that I dont remember what I thought of the 2004 shows) makes me go with 03.

Well shit... I had just checked dmbalmnac and I saw that Germain Amphitheater was the first two dates of that summer tour so I just assumed. Well then... Maybe go with 2004 for then because of Joyride, GGT, Crazy/Easy, etc...

I'm gonna say '04. '03 was good and they were my first shows, but the '04 songs made the tour. I didn't recognize their greatness then, but now I'd pay to see an '04 show again.

2004 easily because lets face it, without good new material you can only listen to this band for so long and those '04 songs brought new life into the band and the fan base. 2003 was good at the start, but kinda fizzled during the second half just like this past tour.

The show I went to in 03 was amazing but the new songs in 04 were too good.

personally, its between 04 and 06, even though the show i saw in 03 had a great setlist - the energy in 04 was amazing, and i really liked the show i saw this summer - if i HAD to decide, i'd say 06 because 6.10.06 was great

thats basically the same way i feel, except i have to go with 04. i only got to see 6.9.06 at burgettstown this year, and though it was incredible, the show i saw at blossom during the second leg was kind of disappointing.

the two night stand i saw in 04 was incredible. bowa, granny, crush, help myself, smts->astb->pnp->rapunzel, song that jane likes, recently, drive in drive out, fool to think, plus all the new songs (including the 6.26.04 crazy-easy), 04 takes the cake for me
