#2 where and the heck are the pickups on it?
#3 what is a good acoustic amp to play it through for up to 300$

For one, the selector switches for volume treble and bass are knobs on the epi and dials on the gibson. the pickup is a higher quality on the gibson and produces a better sound. Im not sure about the woods but it really doesnt matter anyways because that guitar is a solid body with no resonance.
I never played an epi before but im willing to bet, because its the case with most high end guitars, that the gibson plays a little easier. The neck could be faster, action set better etc. Of course most of this could be taken care of with a professional set up. You would be amazed how nice a guitar can play with a good set up.
The pickup is under the bridge.
I got a fender acoustasonic jr for 300 and love it, it sounds great and has three inputs so it can be used as a PA. I have heard good things about marshalls too. I think gibson electrics sound the best through a marshall but with acoustic, all bets are off, just bring your guitar to guitar center or another local shop and try some out.

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

well i got my chet but i left my amp at my friends house.
i plugged the chet into my tuner that has a port for a guitar cord but the tuner wasnt picking anything up. to test to see if my tuner, cord, or guitar was broken i plugged in my electric and it worked fine.
im wondering is it just the way the chet atkins is set up or is there somthing wrong.
i know i wont know for sure until i get my amp back but im wondering if anyone has any ideas
