The forgotten Contest

Well?

Where were we...a new deadline should be set and a place just to put the MP3's and no other comments...or did we just forget it all and don't care any more? I for one am still game and ready for whatever...

Does anybody else think it should be back up, or am I beating a dead horse???

EVEN IF IT IS THE FEW OF US...no need to be so formal...

lay something down over the weekend and we will put them on just one post...we will make another one for others comments and we can just have some quick fun...sound good?

yeah, i know...but that is what happened last time...if nobody just does it, it will never get done...its always..."one guy is ready...then other guy is ready...the new guy is ready...but guy one isn't anymore"...i just want to do it with whoever shows by say, sat. night?

I would like to before tue. of next week have all songs submitted, posted on the "Contest MP3 ONLY post" (maybe have it locked by tue. night for final entries)...and ready for critiquing...

XOOSH, will you help out setting up a lock on a post for a certain time (i.e. tue.)???

I just think to get the ball rolling, we need to give it a push

i'll keep my eye out for the specifics on it then record and post. it will probably be one of the songs i've posted already with just some perfecting...

Possible rules to keep it fair...

1) one guitar (acoustic pref.)

2) no effects ( reverb and minor things are OK, but no wahs and phasers)

3) singing (optional)

4) one lead/solo track (optional)

Other than that, I would think that we could explore up to these rules allow.
Any input?

I like those rules. They're fair since there are ones like me that don't have fancy equipment to use. I just have a cheap cheap mic and cheap but ok sounding acoustic. so deadline Tuesday sounds good to me. so you'll copy and paste the links to the songs in one post firedancer? that's a good idea. and then maybe make a poll of which is better, maybe have two polls for best singing performance, and best guitar performance. just a thought to ponder. it's all in fun,.

I agree...polls would be cool...maybe keep the artist "anonymous" so there is no bias when voting...then the results (with names of artists) could be revealed after voting.

As for saving our names, I think people might be able to give a good guess from previous MP3's so...we will have to see

Well anywho...its nice to see the ball rolling, and yes...I would copy and paste the links all together and see about locking it on TUE. if possible

hey! here is a thought; we should hold unformal challenges like this regularly...i mean throughout the year - maybe once every 2 months or so...that way we won't have just one winner...food for thought (i still think we should have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places too)...
