hi all. i have a nice epi chet from 1994, and I was wondering if it would be OK to remove the two tone and volume buttons from the top of it...if i did this, how would i control tone and volume? could someone else do it from a soundboard or whatever? I'm going to put Fishman Natural 1's in it...and i don't want the two knobs on top of it.
okay. does anyone who has a chet (gibson or epi) know how to remove the strings from the saddle? there's no soundhole, so you can't push them out...help, please?
I have a string winder, which has a peg puller on it, so just buy one(they're .99 at GC or Sam ash) and you'll be able to just pull the pegs out easily.. plus you can tune up when changing strings faster..

i have 15 matty boom points, and frankly, i dont give a shit
yeah, i do it with the string winder, but the problem with that is if you pull too hard, or try to "lever" it out you can end up getting a nice little dent in either your guitar or your knuckles.... otherwise thats the best way to get those little babies out

It took me three years to figure out my winder had the puller on it.
Yea, I just held onto mine for a while MWR, never really used it.. didn't know what it was really for for a while.. than when I started playing acoustic i used it to pry the pegs out.. I don't think you'd be able to excert enough force with a 1 dollar string winder to put a dent in anything.. the ones i'm talking about are plastic..
