Good Snare Drum to accompany Acoustic sessions...

I was wondering if anyone can point the way, or suggest a good snare drum. I'm looking for something that is a good addition to a few people playing acoustic guitar and/or piano. If you watch the AOL Coldplay Sessions, I'm looking for something like Will Champion plays (although obviously MUCH cheaper:)) Any help or suggestions? Thanks a ton in advance.

i would suggest a maple snare. http://www.dwdrums.com take a look at their snares.
