i hate how dmb almanac sucks now instead of saying a song debuted it just says the amt of days it hasnt been played and td.... that pisses me off for some reason

I think the the lyrics to the new songs arent as incredible as early songs and BTCS songs, because his life is so good right now. Back in the day, I'm sure he had alot more troubles in his life, which fueled his writing abilities. Maybe it will take a rough patch in Dave's life to bring out some more of those amazing songs we all crave.... Thoughts?

Nah. He was writing great lyrics for Some Devil and he was writing great lyrics for the Summer '04 songs so I don't think that theory works.

Haven't you heard? Dave's just not that into himself anymore ... just jokin with ya.

Yeh it's obvious dave still has some deep lyrics in him, as gianni said it's shown in SD and the '04 songs and even some new ones that have debuted this summer. Some songs off of Everyday and Stand Up have some deep lyrics, but unfortunately they get overshadowed by shitty music.

i haven't really paid attention to the lyrics for idea of you, but i like the lyrics for sister. i think they're up to par as far as dave lyrics go.

the idea of you lyrics are strange. he is singing from the perspective of a pedophile it seems. much like in hello again where he is singing from the perspective of a serial killer.

I don't find it so much as thinking like a pedophile rather than remembering back to childhood crushes and kind of comparing that to a mature relationship. I'd have to reread the lyrics, but I think at least that's what i think when i listen to the song.

Yeah that could be it to, who knows. Aside from the chorus and the "not gonna pull your hair" line the song is unfinished lyrically.
