i'll still make the argument that its their music, they enjoy it, and if you don't like it, why listen/complain?littlefriend420 wrote:It's not about what they are or aren't playing, it's the way they go about it, the way they tease us into thinking something incredible is about to happen and then they don't follow through with that. Case in point:
2000 tour and subsequent release of Everyday.
2004 tour and subsequent release of Stand Up.
2006 tour... we'll see.
But I have an idea how it's going to go.

I love DMB as much as you guys, but Ive learned this thing called accepting things for what it is. That pretty much allows me just take things as they go and really cuts down on my complaining time. Cause if I had this big idea of how it should be and how its suppose to be (and pretty unrealistic), and the band doesnt fufill it....Im just going to waste my time complaining about it. I choose not to.

This is also how I manage to enjoy Stand Up (which I do, I listened to it yesterday all the way through and loved it). Its not BTCS, its not Crash, and its definitly not Lillywhite Sessions.....so why treat it like its suppose to be? Because its the same band? It is, but its the band doing something DIFFERENT. So I Llisten to it with that in mind that it is the Dave Matthews Band being different. And you know what? I enjoy it that way.checkii wrote:well put.Beauford33 wrote:Just shut up and listen to the music.littlefriend420 wrote:Well what else are we going to do then?Beauford33 wrote:Its just a band and its just music. Naw, but buddhism teaches that the only constant in the world is change. change is guaranteed to happen. no matter what, given enough time everythign will change. there is no way your tastes will stay the same, there is no way a band can play the same calibur of music, etc...
so why bitch about it and fight it, instead embrace what it is today cause tomorrow it could be worse or not there at all.

I dont know, of course there are certain things that I think are worth fighting for to remain the same, but those, for the most part, are things in my immediate control or directly effect me. But then there are just things that I have no control of whatsoever and that are up to other people. The ones that I cant control....no reason to hold on to them. Just learn to deal and let things go. If you spend too much time trying to correct the uncorrectable...thats just time wasted.checkii wrote:no, it makes sense, unfortunately its not common. its actually pretty rare stateside.Beauford33 wrote:Oh so....its like...common sense?

That's pretty much the basis of Zen Buddhism. Experience the moment and let it go.Beauford33 wrote:I dont know, of course there are certain things that I think are worth fighting for to remain the same, but those, for the most part, are things in my immediate control or directly effect me.
