$800-$1500 Acoustic-Electric for Pearl Jam and Dave Stuff

I'm looking for a new acoustic-electric between 800-1500 with a wider nut width and great tone. Anybody have any suggestions? Gonna be playin Pearl Jam, Dave, and some other covers.

Wider than 1 & 11/16. I have an epiphone masterbuilt right now.

Seagulls have some of the widest i have played on and they are fairly reasonable. Also, most OM shape bodies have wider necks too so take kahns advice and look into larrivee. All solid woods for a great price.

I'll second the larrivee recommendation. I'd look at their whole line though not just the 9 series. All of them come with 1 3/4 nut btw.

I just got a Martin DCME. I love it - great sound and the neck is thinner than most so I can pull off bigger stretches.

I think all Larivees have 1 3/4" necks and most people here seem to love them.

yeh i would def second the larrivee, but if youre not into the brand ill have the decency to mention a few more ideas, unlike my fellow boardmates *looks around accusingly*

i love larrivees, but they have a more fragile feel because they are so finely made and they have a low neck profile. They are also sanded thinner than most, so they are lighter and you may not feel like you can really dig into it. If you want to dig in, check out a heavier model such as:

Mahoghany Martin D-15

Anything from the Walden super Natura line (they just gave them a wider nut width)

I would suggest not getting the pickup with it, but to install it later. If you buy the guitar with the pickup already installed for like 1000, you are really buying an 800 dollar guitar but adding an extra 2 for the pickup that isnt always that great anyway. So if you just buy the guitar you will get more for your money, and you can install it later.
