Fender Mustang (Advice Needed)

Post by Sort Of A Protest Song »

Hey all,

Long story short, I've wanted an electric guitar for quite some time now. I'd love to play some reggae and blues-y stuff, as well as some "alternative" or "rock" styles like the Foo Fighters, Weezer, STP, etc.

I have an opportunity to purchase a vintage 1966 Fender Mustang and since I know nothing of electric guitars, I'd very much appreciate some advice.

If you'd rather email, you can shoot one over at cduffett@gmail.com. Thanks in advance!

I've never played one, though I think they look very nice. I understand that Mustangs ('60s in particular) are considered pretty desirable vintage guitars. What are you planning on paying for it? I would personally stick to a strat, those (IMHO) are the most versatile electric guitars out there.

About 3 grand, but it has quite a lot of sentimental value. The price aside, I just want to know how nice these guitars are. Thanks for the response
