On the end jam of #41 whats played? Is it just the outro thats tabbed out for the whole thing or is he playing something else?

i have always wondered that...i think its the right chords just magnificent strumming on daves part...i would love to know if anyone has any thoughts on it for sure

it is mostly the intro chords, or at least variations, and then towards the end dave plays this to close out the song, like at LS:

I suppose it wouldn't be hard for me to just make something up in key for the jam if I was playing with other people, but when I'm playing it solo or with another guitarist I just need something that sounds like what Dave is playing. Oh well, back to listening to L@LC again, thanks for your help guys.

after "Let the tears splash all over you" i just play the regular verse chords like 2-3 times and then i play the intro chords with that same rythem for 2-3 times and then that outro thing(above) once at regular speed and then the 2nd time slow it down gradually. *shrugs* that's what i do, seems to work fine

That works. But usually you can just mess with it how ever you want by mixed up the intro and verse chords. As long as you keep the same progression of root note, it works. When playing any live version, since they jam for so long, you end up making up some pretty cool patterns.

Like it says above, after the part "let the tears splash all over you" he plays the same intro chords just strummed differently-more of a jamming kind of strum. Then the very end outro are the chords somebody listed above, down at the 10th, 7th fret area on the 1,2,3 strings.

after jamming for a long time, dave will slow it down to just a single strum of each chord. then play the outro part up at the tenth fret and you're done.

EDIT: i just remembered that i recorded 41 for my friend a couple days ago, so listen to it here to hear what im talking about. i didnt do the slow strum in it, but that part is easy.

Regarding the code listed above. Keep in mind the chord strumming is done on the off beat. That means the AND of the beat. I know some people might not understand this. But think of it this way.

Think of a bass druming hitting on every beat. Now the off beat is in between every time in the bass drum hits. I hope that makes sense.

yes, the mutes are every beat, while the actual strum is the off beat (one AND two AND three AND four AND, and's being strums)

yes, indeed keep working on it, it may take a little bit to get down, but once you do, its an amazing song.
