I have no idea but I'm going to say no, you never know what those cleaners are going to do when they touch the finish. Stick to water, it's the only thing I use. But if you really want to know I can find out for ya.

There are a lot of polishes specific to certain guitars and certain finishes. So you could use them.

yea. get some GU-TAH POOOLISHH. hehe. Actually I have guitar polish I think its from Dunlop. I haven't used it yet actually but it is just proof that they are out there :). And that is the safer bet. I think they are only like a few bucks at most.

I actually enjoy cleaning my guitars. I use lemon oil for the fret board which has been great and the Martin polish for the rest of the guitar, which has worked well.

I wouldn't use pledge

Martin DOES NOT recommend lemon oil:
Can I use lemon oil on my fingerboard?
We do not recommend using lemon oil on our fingerboards. The acids in lemon oil break down the finish of our guitars. It may also aid the corrosion of the frets and lessen the life of the strings.
It's here:

at the bottom of the page.

for the fret board just use a damp (not wet) rag to get the dirt/grime off and then buy some dunlop polish for the rest of your guitar

polish isn't for the fret board

LOL!

You can use mineral oil on the neck. It smooths and restores the wood without having any negative effects. water will bloat the wood. Lemon juice has a pH of around 2.0 which will eat the wood. Don't use either. I've got a 35 yr old Contessa guitar which i look after carefully. A dose of mineral oil last year - i used Fretfast which is specifically made for guitars - has made it look like new.

Same here. Mineral oil is great for preserving the shine, hardness and feel.

Oh yeah, remember to wipe off your fretboard everytime you play. If the oils on your fingers can destroy bronze strings, imagine what it does to wood!
