Oh lyrics

Post by bam3211 »

I was listening to this song and how beautiful the lyrics are. Did someone close to Dave die sometime around the writing of the song, or does anybody know what the lyrics are about?

thanks

I think one year for Farm Aid he said that his late grandfather, and even later grandmother, inspired the song. Because his grandfather had to live out those years without his wife.

I think he said that's what inspired him.

I've found girls really dig this song. Its nice to see a song other than crash on their lists.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

I think it was 2004. I'm not positive, but I'll check it out again today in post again tonight.

edit: Just took a look at it again, it is Farm Aid 2004. He says it before he plays Oh, right after So Damn Lucky.

Correct. He also plays Butterfly, which is up there with Oh, and a good version of Stay or Leave. 2004 was a good year for Farmaid.
