When The World Ends

Post by Weepy Harrison »

What's with this song? i dont know if i have the album version but it sounds like Nine Inch Nails did the a song and just asked dave to come sing it. I admit i still like it's just a far cry from what they usually do. why did they make it all techno sounding? Or am i just listening to some remix some guy did?

Waldo Jaquith wrote:The LA Times, in a recent article, reported that Dave Matthews Band commissioned a remix of "When the World Ends" by Paul Oakenfold in mid-2001, and that song will be released on the soundtrack of "The Matrix Reloaded" at the beginning of May. The song was originally to be released in September of 2001, but the single was yanked after September 11th due to its apocalyptic theme. British DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold is a legend in dance music circles, having shepherded in the acid house scene in the 80s, partnered with U2 for over a decade, and worked with groups like Madonna, Massive Attack, Snoop Dogg, and Arrested Development. Thanks to Eric for the tip.

The WTWE is weird. It's all spacey, but kept the same exact vocal track.

WTWE at CP is awesome. Love the bluesy/funk break down and Dave's voice in it.

My favorite. The first time I heard it and they elongated the ending I was excited.
