So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

damn, man. I'm still tryin' to get it. just practice with Live & Luther College, and you'll get it eventually. It's tougher then some think it is, so keep practicing. I am, anyway.
peace,
Ken

Watch LS. That's what helped me.
I just can't get the lyrics at the same time. Maybe tomorrow I'll work on that.

To keep on beat in this song use the bass and bass drum as a point of reference. Stefan plays on the down beat, Carter also hits the bass drum on the downbeat...don't pay attention to the snare as it is on the upbeat and will throw you off. Also each note in the (A#, C, A#, D) part is on the downbeat...hope this helps.

yeah people mention this song being one of the easiest, but i can play a lot of the dave songs that are considered harder but have a lot of trouble getting this one to sound right from the start. Help is alwys appreciated. Later

Not to worry. This song is definately not one of the easiest. The chord shapes are easy, but the rythym is really hard.
And I totally agree with playing along with a DVD. Dave and Boyd seem to have to stare at eachother to get that intro down, so it's obviously a good technique to watch them while you play it.

well I must agree with this one. what's this thread about?

oh yeah - Two Step. whatever I said in my earlier post. I find this song very easy to get knocked off the horse as far as keeping the rhythm - especially the intro.
good, and you?
